Motor Vehicle Collisions

 

Belleville, Ontario – On February 8th, 2018, police responded to 12 accidents across the city. Four of the accidents occurred in parking lots. The other eight occurred on roadways:

 

At 8:04 a.m. police responded to a two-car accident on West Moira Street. One of the drivers was taken to BGH by EMS with minor injuries. The other driver was charged with following too closely. Both vehicles were towed.

 

At 10:40 a.m. police attended on Dundas Street East west of Foster Avenue in relation to a two-car accident. One vehicle had tuned left across the path of an eastbound vehicle. A driver was charged with an improper left turn. One car was towed.

 

At 2:08 p.m. police attended on Bell Blvd. at North Park Street as a pick-up truck and a tractor trailer had collided. There were no injuries. The investigation is continuing.

 

At 3:51 p.m. police attended on Dundas Street East at Herchimer Avenue in relation to a two-car accident. One driver was charged with failing to yield to traffic. There were no injuries.

 

At 3:54 p.m. police attended on West Moira Street as a car had slid into another car. There was minor damage; no charges. There were no injuries.

 

At 4:28 p.m. police attended on Dundas Street West at Avondale Road in relation to a two-car accident. One motorist was charged with failing to yield to traffic. There were no injuries.

 

At 4:31 p.m. police attended on College Street East at Pearl Street for a minor two-car accident. There were no injuries.

 

At 4:32 p.m. police attended on Sidney Street in relation to a two-car accident. There were no injuries and the motorists were referred to the Collision Reporting Centre.

 

 

 

 

Weapons

 

Belleville, Ontario – On February 8th, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. police responded to an east end business regarding a male with a knife. Staff had approached a shoplifter in the parking lot. The suspect brandished a knife and the staff members retreated. The suspect fled on foot. Through video surveillance the officers identified the suspect. A warrant will be sought for the arrest of a 23-year old Belleville man on charges of robbery, weapons dangerous to the public peace, and two counts of theft under $5000.00. No one was injured.

 

 

 

Arrest on warrants

 

Belleville, Ontario – On February 8th, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. police arrested a Napanee man on outstanding warrants. 40-year-old William Dagnall was released with a court date of March 15th, 2018. His charges included theft under $5000.00, fraud and personation. The charges stem from an incident in Belleville on November 25th, 2017.
