Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario - On the 9th of July 2009 at approximately 5:54pm,  the Belleville Police Service responded to a 3 vehicle Motor Vehicle accident in the East end of the City.  As a result of the investigation 2 of the 3 drivers were charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Disturbance
Belleville, Ontario - On the 9th of July 2009 at approximately 4:54pm, officers attended a disturbance call with numerous persons fighting outside an apartment building in the City?s east end.  One of the involved intoxicated males was transported to BGH for treatment of injuries.  The investigation is ongoing, charges are pending.

Break and Enter Arrest

Belleville, Ontario- On the 9th of July 2009 members of the Belleville Police Service arrested a female that was responsible for a Break and Enter on the 8th of July 2009 in the West end of the City.  The female was arrested and charged with Break, Enter and Theft, and released with a court date in August 2009
Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? Police were called to a residence in the west end of the city on Thursday morning for a report of a break, enter, and theft of property from a homeowner.  A door was damaged as a result, and thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of brand name running shoes.  The estimated loss of the shoes is believed to be approximately $400.00.  An investigation is continuing.

Mischief

Belleville, Ontario ? Police were called to a report of a vehicle damaged on Pinnacle Street.  Investigation revealed that a piece of concrete had been thrown through the front windshield of the vehicle.

Theft

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 09th of July 2009, Police were called to a pharmacy in the east end of the City to investigate the theft of medication. A 59 year old Belelville man was arrested and charged with one count of Theft Under $5000.00. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled in August 2009.

Power Disruption

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 09th of July 2009 at approximately 12:30pm, electrical power and services were disrupted due to a falling tree damaging several power lines in the Gordon Street area. This resulted in traffic lights at numerous locations and at major intersections to be out of service for various lengths of time.  In these types of circumstances, Police remind the members of Public to treat all intersections as a four way stop, proceeding with caution when it is safe to do so.

Numerous calls were fielded at Police headquarters in relation to this situation which was resolved at approximately 1:37pm. There were no major incidents and no traffic collision reported during this power disruption.
