Kidnapping Incident

Belleville, Ontario – On May 8th 2017, at 6:11 a.m. the Belleville Police received a call regarding a kidnapping of a 23 year old Belleville male.  The Belleville Police Service was able to track down the male in Hull Quebec and subsequently contacted Quebec Police for assistance.  Quebec Police located the male in the company of another Belleville resident.  In the end, the male claiming to be kidnapped no longer had any complaint however when located in Quebec he was in possession of a quantity of drugs and was also the subject of 3 separate outstanding arrest warrants from Belleville.  The male was released by the Quebec Police on the drug charges with a future court date and members of the Belleville Police drove to Quebec and returned the male to Belleville on the strength of the outstanding arrest warrants.  The male was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing on the 9th of May 2017.
