Weapons Charge
Belleville, ON - On the 1st of August 2019 at 1:56 a.m., an officer on patrol downtown observed a vehicle on South Front St. The officer stopped the vehicle because he believed the driver to be suspended. While talking to the female driver he observed the grip of a handgun sticking out from the female’s purse. She was arrested. A further search of her and the vehicle led to the discovery of narcotics, a large amount of cash, and a scale. The handgun appeared to be a 38 caliber starter pistol. The female was held for a bail hearing facing charges of possession of narcotics, possession of an imitation weapon, along with driving under suspension. She was held for a bail hearing on 01 Aug 2019.
Arrest on Warrant
Belleville, ON - On the 1st of August 2019 at 3:30 a.m., police observed a male walking on Moira St W. He recognized the male and knew there was a n arrest warrant for the male. The 36 year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He is facing charges of domestic assault and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on the 1st of August 2019. His name will not be released.
