Motor Vehicle Collisions ? Personal Injuries

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 1, 2009, the Belleville Police Service responded to 3 motor vehicle collision where injures were sustained.

The first was a two motor vehicle collision and occurred at 3:00 p.m., at the intersection of Bell Blvd at Sidney Street. Damage is estimated to be over $1000.00 and one driver was taken to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries.

The second MVC occurred at 4:45 p.m., at Dundas Street East at Herchimer Ave. This accident involved two vehicles and the damage to both is estimated over $1000.00. The Belleville Fire Department and Ambulance attended at the scene to assist and one driver was taken to Belleville General Hospital for treatment. A 17 year old female driver has been charged with Improper Left Turn contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The third MVC was a single motor vehicle collision and occurred at 5:20 a.m., on Mitchell Road. The vehicle went off the roadway and landed in the ditch. Three occupants of the vehicle required medical attention for minor injuries. This accident is still under investigation.

Theft

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 1, 2009, police received a complaint of theft of DVD player from a home owner in the west end of Belleville. The victim stated she had hired a contractor to complete some work on her home in late November. The contractor had several workers in the home to complete this job. The day the job was completed the home owner noticed her DVD player was missing. The DVD player was found at a local Pawn Shop and the investigation revealed an employee of the contractor was responsible for the theft. A 22 year old Belleville male has been charged with one count of Theft Under and released on a Promise to Appear with a January 2010 court date.
