Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? On January 1, 2010, at 1:11 a.m., police responded at report of a break and enter to a St Charles Street residence between 9:00 a.m. on the December 31 and January 1 at 1:00 a.m. The suspect(s) stole and XBOX. This investigation is ongoing.

Breach of Recognizance

Belleville, Ontario ? On January 1, 2010, at 12:55 a.m., police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence on Benjamin Street. Police found a 21 year old male hiding in a bedroom closet. Further investigation revealed that this male had been charged with 2 counts of sexual assault and one count of assault in October 2009, these charges lead to a bail hearing. At the October bail hearing the 21 year old male agreed to multiple conditions in order to be released and during this occurrence was charged with Breach of Recognizance and will have a bail hearing on January 1, 2010. There was no evidence of assault.

Suspicious Person

Belleville, Ontario ? On 1 January 2010, at 2:20 a.m., police responded to a suspicious person complaint in the Benjamin Street area. A male described as wearing a ball cap was observed by the complainant to be looking into her residence via a window at the back. The male fled when she picked up the telephone. The area was checked but the suspect was not located.

Unwanted Person

Belleville, Ontario ? On 1 January 2010, at 12:55 a.m., police responded to an unwanted person complaint at a North Front Street bar. A 21 year old male from Codrington had been asked to leave the premises earlier and has since returned. This male refused to leave when directed. The male was arrested and has been charged with the provincial offence of Fail to Leave Premises when directed.
