Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario ? On October 31, 2010, at 2:45 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Lemoine Street in the north end of the city. The subsequent investigation lead to a 25 year old Belleville male being arrested for a domestic related assault. The victim and the accused had been at a family gathering earlier in the evening where the accused became involved in a dispute with another family member. As a result the victim and the accused left on foot where a short time later the victim was assaulted by being pushed. The accused is being held for a Bail Hearing set for November 1st. The name of the accused male will not be released as to protect the identity of the victim.

Break and Enter (s)

Belleville, Ontario ? Between October 31st and November 1st police investigated six Break & Enters to businesses.

At 10:30 p.m. on October 31st, police responded to an alarm at a business in the Hilden Square Plaza at 393 Sidney Street Belleville. On arrival police observed the front door window ofa business had been smashed and the business entered. Police also located a second business in the same plaza where the front door window was smashed and again the business entered. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from both businesses.

On November 1, 2010, at 12:40 a.m. an officer on patrol found four Break & Enters to businesses in the Somerville Plaza on Highway 62 in Thurlow Township. The entry to all four was similar to the Break & Enters on Sidney Street whereas the front glass doors to the businesses were smashed.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from one business although it was apparent all four premises had been searched by the suspect(s).

These Break & Enters are currently under investigation.

Impaired Driving

Belleville, Ontario ? On October 30, 2010, at 8:00 p.m., police received two separate reports of a possible impaired driver driving erratically in the east end of the city. A short time later another report was received that this same vehicle was in the North Front Street area of the city. A few minutes' later police located the vehicle and driver on Bell Blvd. The driver, a 29 year old Belleville male, was arrested for impaired driving. Jason CHUSROSKIE was charged with one count each of Drive While Impaired and Over 80 mgs. CHUSROSKIE was later released with a court date set in November.

Mischief (s)

Belleville, Ontario ? Police responded to four acts of Mischief throughout the city over the weekend.

On October 29th at 8:45 p.m., a resident on Herchimer Ave found an arrow lodged in a window frame at the rear of his residence. The arrow had been shot by someone using a Compound Bow.

On October 31st at 4:30 a.m., a homeowner on Hastings Drive woke to his window being smashed. When he went to investigate he found someone had thrown a pair of garden shears through a side window of the home. Several neighboring home were checked by police to ensure the safety of its residents. No similar occurrences were found.

On October 31st sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. someone threw a rock through a window on Herchimer Ave and a window on Marsh Drive. The homeowners in both incidents woke to the sound of smashing glass however did not actually find the broken windows until later in the morning.

There were no injuries reported as a result of these acts of mischief. Police are continuing their investigation into these incidents and are requesting the assistance of the public.
