Belleville Police Service responded to 78 calls for service from the 09th of July 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 10th of July 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Stolen Vehicle/ Drugs

Belleville, Ontario – At 9:00 am on the 9th of July, police initiated an investigation into the report of a stolen vehicle from a west end residence. Moments later, the suspect returned to the residence and was arrested. 28 year-old Marmora resident Michael Young was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and a subsequent search yielded a quantity of narcotics. Young was taken to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a promise to appear with an August 1st appearance date to answer to charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and driving while under suspension.

Public Intoxication

Belleville, Ontario – Shortly before 10:00 pm on the 9th of July, police attended a family dispute in the city’s west end that spilled into the street. A 38 year-old South Simcoe man was arrested for public intoxication after tempers did not subside upon initial police arrival. The man was held overnight until sober and released on a provincial offence notice.

Belleville, Ontario – At approximately 12:10 am on the 10th of July, police received a call with regard to a disturbance in a west end apartment building. Upon arrival, one half of the disturbance was located in the hallway of the apartment and eventually arrested for being intoxicated in the common area of a residence. The 26 year-old Belleville female was taken to The Belleville Police Service where she was held until morning when she was released on a Provincial Offence Notice.
