Bail Violation//Drug Seizure

Belleville, Ontario On April 9th, 2013, at 11:00 p.m. police were called to disturbance on Coleman Street. A man was observed staggering on the street. The intoxicated male was arrested for his own protection. A further check revealed that he had been released on a Recognizance of Bail with numerous conditions. A search of this male produced a bag of marijuana which weighed 36 grams. He also had a set of digital scales and cash which were seized. The 27 year old Belleville man was held for a Bail Hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime, and breach of a recognizance.

Break and Enters

Belleville, Ontario On April 9th, 2013, at 1:05 p.m., police attended at a Flint Drive residence located off of Haig Road in the City's east end. Unknown person(s) gained entry to the home and removed electronics, jewelry, and a man's wallet. The break-in occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time can contact Cst. Marcotte or Crimestoppers.

On April 9th, 2013, at 7:20 p.m., police attended at a residence on Tracey Park Drive.

Unknown person(s) gained entry and removed electronics. The break-in occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time can contact Cst. Orr or Crimestoppers.

Accidents with injuries

Belleville, Ontario On April 9th, 2013, at 7:39 p.m., police responded to a collision on Bell Blvd near the Quinte Mall. Investigation revealed that a 2003 Dodge pick-up truck had struck a pedestrian. A 51 year Belleville man was transported to Quinte Healthcare Belleville General Hospital, and later transferred to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries. Members of the Belleville Police Service Traffic Management Unit are continuing the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Constable Brad Stitt at (613) 966-0882 ext 4121.

On April 9th, 2013, at 9:37 p.m. police responded to a collision in the parking near the Galaxy Cinemas. A southbound car and an eastbound car collided. One driver received minor injuries but did not require medical attention. One of the cars had to be towed from the scene. No charges were laid in this matter as the accident occurred on private property.
