Break & Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 9, 2011 sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. a home was entered on Elgin Street. Entry was gained by cutting the screen on a window in the home. Once inside suspects stole an HP lap top. This incident is currently under investigation.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 7, 2011, police reported a stolen vehicle to the media, plate number BCZY035 (1994 Lincoln Town Car). This vehicle was recovered on August 10, 2011 at 2:00 a.m. by an officer on patrol. The vehicle was found parked on Dunbar Street. The stereo component had been removed from the vehicle.

Suspicious Vehicle

Recently the Belleville Police Service has been placing an emphasis on requesting the assistance of the public in reporting suspicious persons and vehicles in their neighbourhood.

On August 10, 2011 at 3:35 a.m. a homeowner in the east end of Belleville noted a vehicle being driven slowly through her neighbourhood. This vehicle then parked on the street with the driver remaining inside. This was reported to the police as suspicious. To the surprise of the homeowner it was actually a Belleville police zone patrol officer who was also watching for suspicious activity in his assigned Community Patrol Zone!!!

Belleville Police Service would like to thank the community for reporting suspicious persons, activities and vehicles. The result of the community and the police proactively working together prevents crime.
