Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 10, 2009, at 2:25 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Dundas Street East at Herchimer Ave. Two vehicles were involved in this collision and one of the drivers had to be extricated from the vehicle. Belleville Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene. Both drivers were taken to Quinte Health Care and treated for undisclosed injuries. One driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Fail to Yield from a Drive Way. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and traffic was diverted on Dundas Street East while the accident was being investigated.


Belleville, Ontario ? Belleville Police conducted a R.I.D.E. program overnight on December 10th and 11th. Although officers assigned to the R.I.D.E., reported that it was a very cold night with not much traffic they checked 275 vehicles, completed 2 Roadside Screen Device checks, issued 2 Driver's Licence Suspensions, and charged two people with Criminal Code drinking and driving offences.

A 20 year old Quinte West male was arrested and charged with one count of Over 80mgs. He was released and will appear in court in January 2010.

A 24 year old Belleville male was charged with one count of Refused to Provide a Breath Sample. He was released with a court date in January 2010.
