On the evening of 9 December 2015, police responded to the downtown core in response to a possible weapons call. Witnesses reported that a male party was observed holding a black handgun to a women’s face. The male and female entered a vehicle and began to depart the area. Officers attended the area and located the suspect vehicle. A high risk vehicle stop was conducted and 2 parties were safely taken into custody. Further investigation and statements were obtained and it was learned that a handgun was not involved. The 2 parties were later released unconditionally.  


In the afternoon of 9 December 2015, police located a female party who was wanted by police regarding an outstanding allegation of robbery. The incident was originally reported to police in late November when a Belleville resident had contacted police. The victim reported that another female had taken her debit card from her while brandishing a small hammer. The victim sustained minor injuries. The female accused was arrested by officers and held in custody pending a show cause hearing on 10 December 2015.


On the evening of 9 December 2015, the Belleville Police Service RIDE Program checked over 400 motorists on city streets. 1 roadside screening was administered. No charges were laid.
