Drugs and Weapons

On the 9th of February 2018, members of the Belleville Police Service Intelligence/Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Belleville Police Service ERT team executed a CDSA search warrant at a west end address.   

As a result of the execution of the warrant a quantity of cocaine as well as firearms were seized. A 36 year old Belleville man David Cook was charged. Cook was charged with one count each of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Proceeds of crime, Unauthorized Possession of a firearm and Possession of Firearm or ammunition contrary to a Prohibition order. Cook was held for a bail hearing. 


Motor Vehicle Collison / Impaired Driving

On the 10th of February 2018, at approximately 12:45 am city police were call to a motor vehicle collision in the East end of the city involving a passenger car and a Belleville City Works snow plow truck.  The police investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor.  The driver of the passenger vehicle was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle resulting in a collision. 

Belleville resident, David Stewart was charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of refusing to provide police with a breath sample.  Stewart is scheduled to attend Belleville Provincial Court on February 22nd, 2018.
