Belleville Police Service- Community Safety Planning

The Belleville Police Service and Belleville Police Services Board Community Safety Planning Committee will be announcing 2 Townhall events in the coming weeks.

The Townhall events will be your opportunity as citizens, Businesses, and guardians of Belleville to give us your ideas on how we can build upon our Community Mobilization model of Community/Police partnerships in achieving our goals pertaining to making our communities safer.  This strategic community safety plan will set the general priorities for the Belleville Police Service until 2019, hence the importance of community involvement with the process.

We are looking forward to seeing you and sharing dialogue on your ideas and solution recommendations.  This will be your Community Safety Plan 2016-2019, and an opportunity to speak with the Police Officers and Staff of your Police Service.  Our officers are looking forward to it.

We want to continue working with our current citizen, community, and Provincial partners, and want to enhance our community engagement and mobilization in achieving and championing the founding principles of modern Policing articulated by Sir Robert Peel in 1829.  These guiding principles still provide for the framework of community mobilization in 2016 and beyond.

The Belleville Police Service has a brilliant partnership with the Loyalist College Journalism faculty who will be conducting a community survey in March in concert with our Community Safety Plan 2016-2019.
