Belleville, Ont.,  - On February 11, 2009 at approximatley 7pm, officers were called to a West End group home in regards to a complaint of an assault.  As a result of police investigation a 15yr old female was taken into custody and  charged with one count of assault and one count of breaching her probation.  The accused is being held for a Bail Hearing on 12 February 2009.



Belleville, Ont., - On February 11, 2009 just after 8pm, officers attended at a Thurlow Ward residence and arrested a 17yr old male after his parents complained of the youth causing damage to the residence.  He was taken into custody and later released on a promise to appear charged with one count of Mischief and Breach of Probation.



Belleville, Ont., -  On February 11, 2009 at approximately 8:30pm, an East Hill video store reported to Police that a youth had stolen some electronic equipment.  Officers attended and took the 16yr old youth into custody.  He was charged with one count of theft and released on a promise to appear.



Belleville, Ont., -  On February 11, 2009 at approximately 10:00pm, police were called to assist Ambulance crews as they searched the north end of Coleman Street after receiving report of a man being assaulted.   A second call reported a man down in a parking lot.  The18yr old male victim was finally located and transported to QHC for treatment of injuries as the result of an altercation.  Further police investigation, resulted in another 18yr old Belleville man being arrested and charged with several charges including one count each of Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Public Mischief, Obstruct Police, Theft and Possession of Stolen Property.  He was later released on a Promise to Appear.


Neighbour Dispute

Belleville, Ont., - On February 12, 2009 just after 12:00am, an ongoing neighbour dispute in a West Hill apartment building turned unneighbourly when a downstairs neighbour/resident pushed his way into an upstairs apartment and threatened the tenants for calling the police on him earlier.  On further investigation a 27yr old Belleville man was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing later today.  He is charged with one count of Break and Enter and Uttering Threats and Breach of Probation.


Breach of the Peace

Belleville, Ont., - On February 12, 2009 just after 1:00am, patrons at a downtown drinking establishment reported a man running around wearing nothing but his boxer shorts.  The 25yr old man was located a short time later at his West Hill residence and officers took him to QHC for observation.  A short time later, police were called back to QHC at which time the accused was arrested and taken into custody for Breaching the Peace.

Impaired Driver

 Belleville,Ont., - On February 12, 2009 at approximately 8:20 pm, police were notified about an erratic driver. A description of the vehicle was passed on to officers by a concerned citizen and the vehicle was located in Dunnett Boulevard / Bridge Street West area. The driver failed a roadside screening test and was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he subsequently failed a breathalyzer test. A 40 year old male from Brampton was charged with Operate Motor Vehicle with over 80MG of Alcohol Per 100ML of Blood and released on a Promise to Appear.        




Belleville, Ont., -  Officers with the Belleville Police Service conducted a RIDE program at various points throughout the city during the evening hours on February 12, 2009 and checked over 260 vehicles. There were no impaired drivers arrested and no 12 hour licence suspensions were issued.
