Mischief to Mailboxes

On April 11th, at 8:00 a.m., a resident on Cloverleaf Drive reported his mailbox missing.  Further investigation revealed one more missing mailbox, plus two damaged mailboxes along the same stretch.  One mailbox was recovered later on Mudcat Lane. 

Youth arrested on Bail Violations

On April 11th, at 10:30 a.m. Police arrested a 15 year old Bath resident for a Bail violation.  This male was also charged with breach of probation and turned over to a responsible adult. He will appear in Belleville Youth Court in May.

Stunt Driving Offence

On April 11th, at 2:00 p.m., a motorist was stopped for speeding on Hwy #37 at Zion Rd. The vehicle was clocked at 138 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.  Under the provisions of stunt driving, any motorist traveling in excess of 50 km/h over the speed limit will have his driver?s licence suspended for 7 days.  In addition, the vehicle is automatically impounded for 7 days.  The 22 year old male driver from Quinte West will appear in Traffic Court in May.

Insecure loads

On April 11th, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., 5 motorists were charged with insecure loads under the Highway Traffic Act.  This charge carries a fine of $160.00.  One driver was driving a commercial motor vehicle which resulted in his fine being doubled.  All motorists were headed to the Thurlow Dump.
