Waterfront Festival
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 10, 2009, one male was arrested shortly before 11:00 pm during a minor disturbance at Zwick?s Park. The Belleville teen was brought to the Bellevile Police Service for breaching the peace. The name of the minor will not be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Assault
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 11, 2009, a 28-year old Belleville man was arrested twice by police during a span of 8 hours on Friday night. The man was first arrested shortly after 5:00 pm on charges of break, enter, and mischief, theft under five thousand dollars, and breach of probation. He was released shortly after on a promise to appear and an officer-in-charge undertaking with strict conditions. At approximately 1:00 am Saturday morning the same man was found to be breaking the terms of his conditions, where he is alleged to have committed an assault on the same female victim for which he was originally arrested. This time, the man was taken into custody on new charges of breaching the undertaking, breach of probation, and assault causing bodily harm. The female victim was treated at Belleville Hospital for her injuries. The man is now being held for a show cause hearing slated for Monday in Provincial Court. The name of the suspect is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Belleville, Ont. ? On July 11, 2009, the Belleville Police Service RIDE Team was out in full force Friday night and early into Saturday morning. Approximately 600 vehicles were checked. One roadside screening test was performed, and one liquor seizure was made. One other driver was charged for driving while under suspension.
Other
Belleville, Ont. ?  Between July 10th and 11th, (4pm to 4am) Police responded to 45 other calls in the preceding twelve hours. These included minor motor vehicle collisions, theft, suspicious persons, traffic complaints, unwanted persons, and noise complaints.
Stolen bicycle recovered
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 11, 2009, in the early morning hours an East Hill resident reported that his $11,000.00 bicycle had been stolen out of his vehicle. Shortly after 3pm this same date officers received information about a possible sighting on the West Hill and upon checking the area arrested a 19yr old Belleville man riding the bike. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property and  is being held in custody for a bail hearing Monday.
