Stabbing update

Belleville, ONT – The Criminal Investigations Branch revealed on June 10th 2019 they are continuing the investigation into an altercation which occurred in downtown Belleville on June 9th 2019.  The Belleville Police Service is in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for a 30-year old male who is a resident of Belleville.  The man will face charges of aggravated assault and assault – causing bodily harm.  Police continue to ask for anyone having witnessed or who may have any information to please contact the Criminal Investigations Branch at: (613) 966-0882 ext. 2312 or ext. 2328.


(Original Release)-Downtown stabbing

Belleville, ONT – On June 9th 2019 at 10:37 p.m. police were notified of a stabbing at an establishment in the downtown core on Front Street.  EMS attended and transported a male victim to the Belleville Hospital with serious injuries. The male was later transferred to Kingston General Hospital for further care and treatment.  The Forensic Identification Unit was called to assist in this matter along with detectives from the Major Crimes Unit.  A male suspect was described for police, but had left the area prior to their arrival.  The suspect is described as being a white male, 20-30 years of age, with a thin build.  He was wearing bright coloured shorts, and a bright shirt, a ball cap, and carrying a back-pack.  The man was last observed walking in a westerly direction towards the Moira River. Camera theft


Belleville, ONT – On June 10th 2019 at 5:09 p.m. police received a complaint of a theft of a camera which was attached to the Salvation Army building on Pinnacle Street. The complainant advised police that she did have still photos from the date and time of the theft, which recorded on an indoor security feature.  Police are looking for a white male and a white female, both between 25 and 35 years of age with slim build.  The female appears to be wearing a dark coloured summer dress.  The male appears to be wearing a dark coloured long-sleeve shirt, knee-length camouflage shorts and has a bicycle in his possession.  This theft occurred on June 9th 2018 between 10:50 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.  Police are asking anyone who may have information about this theft or the two people responsible to please contact investigating officer Cst. Unwanted person call results in criminal charges


Belleville, ONT – On June 10th 2019 at 5:43 p.m. police responded to a call of an unwanted male at a residence in the east end of the city.  An investigation revealed this to actually be a family dispute involving two brothers.  This resulted in one brother, a 33-year old city man being arrested for possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), uttering death threats, and two counts of breaching probation.  He was taken into custody and held for a show-cause hearing at a later date.
