Assault(s)

 

Belleville, Ontario On March 10th, 2014 at 12:38 p.m. a woman advised that she had been struck with a duffle bag by a man while walking on Victoria Ave.  The man was located nearby and arrested.  A 28 year old Belleville man was charged with assault and released with an April 3rd courtdate. The victim did not receive any injuries.  The victim and the accused are not in a relationship.

 

 

On March 10th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. a woman reported that she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend on Wallbridge Loyalist Road.  A 20 year old Belleville was located and arrested.  He was charged with assault and will appear in Domestic Court on April 7th. The victim did not receive any injuries.

 

 

On March 10th, 2014 at 2:15 p.m. police attended on Sidney Street in relation to a suspicious male who had entered several apartments. In both instances, the male was confronted by the homeowners.  Both homeowners were pushed by the accused.  In the one incident the homeowner brandished a knife in order to protect herself. The accused advanced on the homeowner and suffered a stab wound to his chest area.  The 35 year old Belleville man was arrested nearby and taken to Quinte Health Care for treatment. His injury was deemed to be "non-life threatening. Once treated, he was held for a bail hearing on March 11th.  Neither homeowner was injured.  The accused faces charges of assault X 2, unlawfully in a dwelling house X 2, and breach of probation X 2.  There are no charges in relation to the homeowner.

 

 

 

 

Accidents

 

Belleville, Ontario On March 10th, 2014 at 1:25 p.m. police attended at the intersection of Bridge St. and Pinnacle St. in relation to a two-car accident.  One of the vehicles was towed from the scene.  EMS transported one of the drivers to Quinte Health Care for treatment of minor injuries.  This investigation is continuing.

 

 

On March 10th, 2014 at 5:15 p.m. police attended at the intersection of Bridge St. and Herchimer Ave. in relation to a two-car accident.  It was learned that one of the vehicles failed to remain at the scene of the accident.  The vehicle that failed to remain left a crumpled licence plate behind. This investigation is continuing.  No one was injured.

 

 

 

Theft from a car

 

Belleville, Ontario On March 10th, 2014 at 8:55 a.m. police attended on Bridge Street West in relation to a theft of tools overnight from a parked car.  The homeowner advised that the assorted tools had the word "Tom engraved on them.  Anyone with information can contact the Belleville Police Service or Crimestoppers at 966-8477.
