Retirement Announcement

After nearly 35 years in policing, Deputy Chief Brian Harder is retiring from the Belleville Police Service.
Deputy Chief Brian Harder has enjoyed a very rewarding and prosperous career. He started policing in Toronto in 1974 and returned to Belleville where he was hired as a Police Constable in 1979. Deputy Chief Harder rose through the ranks working in virtually every division within the service.
Over the past 30 years of policing in Belleville he gained extensive knowledge and experience in the operational and administrative functions of a Police Service from a variety of perspectives
Deputy Chief Harder was instrumental in bringing Ontario Police College training to Belleville. He was one of the founding members of the Children's Safety Village to educate children in our community.
Deputy Chief Harder would like to thank all the men and women of the Belleville Police Service and the citizens of the City of Belleville for their support throughout his tenure as the Deputy Chief of Police. The many successes that he has enjoyed during his term as Deputy Chief of Police were only achieved through the team effort of the police officers and civilian staff of the Belleville Police Service and the total commitment of the community.
