Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario ? On 10 May, 2010 between 4:45 a.m. and 1:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Station Street. The resident reported that the culprits gained entry through a window and stole various electronic equipment and money. This investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 11 May, 2010 between 12:30 a.m. and 5:40 a.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Southview Ave., where the unknown thieves gained entry a window and stole various pieces of electronic equipment. This investigation is ongoing.

Assault/ Breach of Probation
Belleville, Ontario ? On 10 May, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., police were advised of a couple that were involved in an argument directly across from the police station. It is alledged that female was attempting to cross Dundas Street East to attend at the police station but the male was preventing the female from crossing the street. The male was apprehended on George Street and will appear in provincial court on May 11, 2010 for a bail hearing on charges of Assault and Breach of Probation.

Showing Support for our Troops

Belleville Police Service is proud to display the yellow ribbon that was graciously donated by Mr. A. Moreau (manager of the CANEX Super Mart). The yellow ribbon is the recognized symbol of the "Support Our Troops? campaign. All proceeds from the sales of CFPSA "Support Our Troops" items are reinvested directly into morale and welfare programs for CF members and their families.

Police Week

Across Ontario police week is recognized from 13 to 19 May, 2010. This year's theme is "Safer Communities for a Stronger Ontario?, which focuses on community awareness by promoting personal and public safety through prevention, preparedness and social development.

In recognition of police week, the Belleville Police Service will be hosting an Awards and Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday 11th May, 2010. This event will be an opportunity for the Belleville Police Service to honour members of the service and community members.

For the second time this year Belleville Police Service will partner with The Gleaner's Food Bank in an effort to gather much need nonperishable foods that will help in supporting members of our community. Belleville Police Service is committed to a collaborative approach to encourage our youth to make good choices.

Belleville Police Service members and volunteers will be available in Quinte Mall's Kindness Courton Saturday May 15, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. to receive donations (non perishable food items and/or money), to Fill the Cruiser.

As well, Belleville Police Service will host a contest for school aged children (K to 8). The contest will involve identifying the country of origin for a police patch that will be on display. The winner will win lunch with Chief Cory McMullan.
