Belleville, Ontario – On May 10th, 2013 at 11:20 p.m., police received six 911 calls in relation to a large fight on Brock Street at Mary Street. A total of three people were arrested and a canister of pepper spray was seized. A vehicle had been kicked which sparked the disturbance. A 16 year old Quinte West girl was charged with public intoxication. Two Quinte West males, ages 16 and 17, were held for Bail Hearings on various charges. The 16 year old youth was charged with two counts of breaching his undertaking. The 17 year old youth was charged with mischief to property under $5000.00, three counts of breach of a recognizance, breach of an undertaking, carrying a concealed weapon (pepper spray), and obstructing police. The 17 year old youth sustained minor injuries in this skirmish but did not require medical attention. The pepper spray was not deployed. The youths cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Theft of a BBQ

Belleville, Ontario –On May 11th, 2013, at 2:46 a.m. police attended on Pinnacle Street in relation to a theft of a barbecue. It was learned that persons were setting up for a yard sale when a male and a female grabbed the barbecue and fled on foot. Police located the barbecue and male on Great St. James Street. A 33 year old Belleville man was arrested for public intoxication. The barbecue was retrieved by the owners.
