Belleville Ontario 12 March 2013 - The Belleville Police Service has recently been receiving an increased number of complaints regarding graffiti throughout the city but it appears to be focused in the downtown area. The Belleville Police Service is working with city officials and business owners to combat the graffiti issue.

City employees and business owners are assisting with the efforts to combat the graffiti problems by removing the graffiti or "tagging shortly after it discovered on buildings, receptacles or lamp posts in an effort to deter the persons responsible from returning.

Just one example of the clean up efforts was at the former Trudeau Motors building on Station Street in Belleville where numerous graffiti markings and tags were recently removed.

Shown below is a photo of the Trudeau Motors building after the clean up efforts.

Anyone with information on the persons responsible for the graffiti is requested to contact the Belleville Police Service Cst. McCambridge at 613-966-0882 ext. 2304 or call Crime Stoppers.

The Belleville Police Service would also like to remind citizens of the Graffiti hotline setup through the city of Belleville.
