Belleville, Ontario ? On August 11, 2010, at 11:30 a.m., police were called to a Cannifton Road apartment building regarding an alleged assault. The investigation resulted in two Belleville males being charged with various weapons and drug offences.

Police seized a quantity of marihuana and various drug paraphernalia. Police also seized a canister of Frontiersmen Bear Attack Deterrent, 3 expandable Batons and a Stun Gun.

Collin Kerr, 20 years old from Belleville, was charged with one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Unlawfully Produce a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.

Kerr was further charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and 2 count of Possession of a Weapon While Prohibited. Kerr was released on a Promise to Appear with a September 23rd court date.

Brandon Phillips, 21 years old from Belleville, was charged with one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Unlawfully Produce a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.

Phillips was further charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. Phillips was released on a Promise to Appear with a September 23rd court date

Weapons

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 11, 2010, at 10:20 p.m., police responded to a complaint of an assault at a residence on Lewis Street.

Victims on the scene reported a male had been visiting at the home earlier in the evening but was asked to leave as he had offended another guest. The suspect left however returned a short time later and brandished a walking stick that contained a removable 22? sword. It was alleged the suspect waved the sword at the victims while attempting to get them to fight with him.

Jason Jackson, 36 years old from the City of Belleville was arrested and charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and 3 counts of Assault with a Weapon. Jackson was released Promise to Appear with OIC Conditions with a September 23rd court date.
