Break & Enter(s)
Belleville, Ontario ? The Belleville Police Service responded to 3 Break & Enters in the past few days. A home was broken into on Benjamin Street sometime between August 9th at 6:45 p.m. and August 10th at 8:00 a.m. suspects entered through an east window. Once inside thieves pried a locked box and took various bottles of prescription medications. Police are warning that the stolen medication should not be taken by anyone. This medication taken alone or in combination with other drugs or alcohol could be lethal.
On August 11th at 4:00 a.m. a witness on Bridge St West heard smashing glass and when he went to investigate he observed 3 males jump off the balcony of a home and flee east bound on Bridge St West in a Green SUV. The witness knew the home owner was away at the time and knew these males were not from this residence. The home owner was contacted and reported this was in fact a break and enter where the entry and exit was through the apartment balcony door. Taken was jewellery, a flat screen TV, and a number other personal household items
On August 11, 2011 police responded to a Break & Enter on Isabel Street. The entry occurred sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. and entry was gained through an east side window. Taken was a Samsung Plasma TV valued at $3000.00
All of these Break & Enters are currently under investigation.
Belleville, Ontario ? On August 11, 2011 at 2:14 p.m. police responded to a disturbance in the west end of Belleville. Further investigation determined a male and female had been involved in a dispute and as a result the suspect punched the victim several times on face. The victim suffered minor facial injuries as a result of this assault.
An 18 year Belleville female was arrested and charged with one count of Assault. She was subsequently released with a court date set in September 2011.
The name of the charged person will not be released as to protect the identity of the victim.
