Follow-up Disturbance Call


Belleville Ontario; The victim is currently being treated and is expected to be released from Kingston hospital today for wounds he sustained after being intentionally shot with a pellet gun multiple times.

As a result of a criminal investigation, James Hart, 27, of Belleville is charged with Break and Enter, Weapons Dangerous and Aggravated Assault. He is being held for a show cause hearing in Belleville court on December 13th, 2014.




Disturbance Call


Belleville Ontario; shortly after midnight on the 12thof December 2014, officers were dispatched to a Dundas Street East address regarding a disturbance call.  As uniform officers arrived they observed a male leaving the area holding what appeared to be a gun, this male began to approach officers resulting in officers safely affecting a gun point arrest of a 27 year old Belleville male.  Officers learned that a 58 year old male inside the building had been shot during the disturbance.  A gun was recovered and found to be a modified high powered "Uzi Sub-machine gun look-a-like pellet pistol. 


The victim was transported to Belleville General Hospital and later transferred to Kingston General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.  He remains in hospital care.  The accused male remains in police custody pending further investigation.  


Officers with the Criminal Investigations Branch and the Forensic Identification Unit are continuing their investigation.  No further details on the identity of the involved parties will be released at this time.
