Charges laid in stolen vehicle investigation


Belleville, Ontario – On December 31st, 2017, at 11:43 p.m. officers attended on Bell Blvd in relation to a stolen vehicle. A male had entered an unlocked running vehicle and drove away. The same male was responsible for a “food fraud” at a nearby restaurant minutes earlier. The Ford Fusion was located abandoned on Mill Street in Stirling. As a result of an investigation 34-year-old Steven James Johnson of Belleville was charged on January 10th, 2018 with theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, fraudulently obtaining food or lodging, and breach of probation. He will appear in court on February 22nd, 2018.




Motor Vehicle Collisions


Belleville, Ontario – On January 11th, 2018, police responded to 4 accidents.


At 7:17 a.m. officers responded to a two-car accident on Bell Blvd. at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road. There were no injuries.


At 8:35 a.m. officers responded to a two-car accident on Millennium Parkway at Hwy 62.  There were no injuries.


At 9:59 a.m. officers attended on Pine Street at Lingham Street in relation to a two-car accident. A 65-year-old Belleville woman was charged with “turn – not in safety”. There were no injuries.


At 6:40 p.m. a two-car accident was reported to officers at the station. The accident occurred in a parking lot on West Moira Street. Two occupants suffered minor injuries.
