Liquor Arrests
Belleville, Ont. ? Between July 11th & 12th two persons were arrested for liquor infractions in the preceding 12 hours. At 9:20 pm police responded to a disturbance in the Moira St. W area for a report of two males fighting in the street. Upon arrival the fight was over and police arrested a 33 year-old Belleville man for public intoxication.
Shortly before 4:00 am a Trenton female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place after refusing requests to leave a bar in the north end of the city. She was arrested for her own protection and transported to the Bellevile Police Service where she was held.
Domestic
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 12, 2009, police responded to a domestic dispute in the east end shortly before 1:00 am. An investigation revealed that a male and a female were engaged in a verbal argument only. Advice was provided to both, and police left without incident.
Bear Spray Attack
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 12, 2009, at approximately 2:45 am a group of five people were sprayed with bear mace by an unknown suspect in the Everett St area. Ambulance attended and assisted the group. There were no serious injuries in this occurrence, which remains under investigation.
Shoplifting
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 12, 2007, at approximately 5:00 p.m., police were dispatched to Walmart regarding two shoplifters. Further investigation revealed several items were concealed by the two accused and both left the store without making any attempt to pay for them. A 37yr old Toronto woman was arrested for shoplifting and further investigation revealed she was already before the courts on other matters in Toronto and therefore was detained in custody for a bail hearing Monday. A 54 year old Picton male was charged and released for Theft Under.
