Dogs left in vehicles

Belleville, ON – In the preceding 24 hours, the Belleville Police Service has received three calls for service regarding dogs left in unattended vehicles. In all cases the owners were quickly located and the dogs were in good shape. Police wish to remind the public to leave their dogs at home as the temperature in a vehicle can rise very quickly. Please have the safety of your K-9 companion in mind and never leave an animal in a vehicle.


Impaired Driver crashes into pole, arrested

Belleville, On – On the 11h of June at approximately 10:00 pm, police responded to a call of a vehicle that has struck a pole in the north end of the city. A witness reported that the driver had left the vehicle. Police attended and located the driver. The accused, Yvon ROUSSEAU, 65 years old of Gatineau Quebec, is charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80. ROSSEAU will appear in court on the 28th of June 2018.



Belleville, On – On the 11th of June 2018 at approximately 11:00 pm, police were called to the downtown core for a report of an assault. Police attended and located two male victims. The suspect had fled. One of the victims was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The second victim did not require medical attention. Police are looking for a suspect who is described as follows;

  • white male

  • approximately 5’ 10”

  • thin build

  • wearing white red flat brimmed ball cap with a gold sticker on the peak

  • red T-shirt with a black cross on the front, black pants dark running shoes
