Mischief
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 12th of May 2009 at 12:04am, Police were called to a disturbance in the downtown area of Belleville.  Upon arrival officers located a male bleeding profusely from a laceration to his arm.  An ambulance attended the scene and the 22 year old Belleville male was transported to BGH for treatment.  Further investigation revealed this male had punched and broken a window of a business.  The investigation is continuing with possible Mischief charges pending.   
Weapons/Escape Lawful Custody 
Belleville, Ontario - On the 12th of May 2009, at approximately 8:30am, Police attended a residence in the west end of Belleville in order to speak with a suspect in regards to a shoplifting incident from a north end business, yesterday which resulted in the security officer being assaulted. When officers attempted to speak with the male, he produced a weapon threatening the officers.  The male then disrobed and ran from the residence without his clothing or shoes engaging the officers in a foot pursuit.  The male suspect was located a short time later by Police and taken into custody without further incident. There were no injuries to the officers or the suspect.
The investigation has resulted in numerous criminal charges against a 31 year old Belleville man who was held for a Bail Hearing on the 13th of May 2009.  The accused has been charged with one count each of Weapons Dangerous, Assault, and Theft Under. He has been charged with two counts of Escape Lawful Custody and four counts of Breach of 810 Order.  
Suspicious Male
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 12th of May, 2009 at 6:19pm Police were dispatched to the Trans Canada Trail Walkway Bridge over the Moira River, (at Station Street) regarding a male that was acting suspiciously.  Upon Police arrival, a 43 year old Belleville man indicated that he was going to jump off the bridge.   Two uniform officers began talking to him in an effort to have him leave with them to a place of safety.  He refused to accompany officers and climbed onto the railing of the bridge. Several uniformed officers quickly arrived on scene, as well as members of the ERT Team.  A Negotiator was also called to the scene.  Through the efforts of the Negotiator and officers on scene, this male was removed from the bridge unharmed at 7:50pm and taken to BGH for medical treatment.  The Belleville Fire Department had also attended the scene and was on stand by with boats in the water as were EMS/Paramedics.
