 After consultation with the Crown Attorney’s Office, the Publication Ban imposed by the courts was clarified. The ban prohibited the publication of evidence in the proceedings and not the name of the accused. The information sent out earlier by the Belleville Police Service in a media release is available to the public.

Belleville, Ontario – On 11 May, 2015 Constable Eric Shorey was charged with one count of assault relating to a domestic incident stemming from allegations which occurred in December, 2014.

The Belleville Police Service requested assistance from the Brockville Police Service to investigate this incident.

He was released from custody with a court date of June 22, 2015.

Constable Shorey has been a member of the Belleville Police Service since 2007.  He is currently suspended from all duties with pay.
