Belleville, Ontario - Members of the Belleville Police Service received a call from two fishermen reporting a male person in the Bay of Quinte at the northeast side of the Bay Bridge clinging to a cement pier at 12:51 AM this morning. The 28 year old male was rescued with the assistance of the Belleville Fire Department and transported to Belleville General Hospital by Ambulance. While being treated at the hospital, it appears the male went into cardiac arrest. All efforts to revive the male were unsuccessful. A post mortem is being scheduled in Toronto. The investigation has been taken over by members of the Criminal Investigations Division.
