Domestic Dispute Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 5:50 pm on October 11, 2012 police were called to a Victoria Avenue residence to investigate a report of a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed that the female resident had been in an altercation with her boyfriend and that he had broken into the home during an argument by kicking in the front door. He had also broken a window and prevented her from leaving by blocking the door when she tried to exit the home. The male suspect, who does not live with the victim was located a short time later and arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service. The victim was not injured as a result of the dispute. A 23 year old Belleville man faces charges of Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5000, and Forcible Confinement. He was later released from custody on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking. His name will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
