The Belleville Police Service responded to 45 calls for service between January 11th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and January 12th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.


Belleville, Ontario – On January 11th 2019 at 8:47 a.m., officers on patrol observed a male walking on Parker Street with a large knife pointing upwards in his back pocket. As the officers approached, the male threw the knife to the ground and fled on foot. Assisting officers located the male on Dundas Street West. During a search, the officers seized another smaller knife, a canister of pepper spray, and a plastic baggie containing crystal methamphetamine. John James Willis, 35 years of age of Belleville, was charged with weapons dangerous, carry a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and breach of probation. He will appear in court on February 14th, 2019.


Belleville, Ontario – On January 11th 2019, at 10:37 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Coleman Street. The investigation revealed that the 39-year-old Belleville man had threatened his estranged wife. He was arrested and charged with uttering death threats and breach of probation. His name will not be released to protect her identity. He will appear in court on February 11th, 2019. There were no injuries.

Prohibited driver

Belleville, Ontario – On January 11th 2019, at 3:05 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road. The driver was confirmed to be a prohibited driver. His vehicle was impounded for 45 days. John William Anderson, 41 years of age of London, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so. He will appear in court on February 14th, 2019.
