Breach of Probation

Belleville, Ont. ? On February 13, 2010 at 4:45 a.m., police were called to a west end apartment building regarding a male prowler attempting to slide open the screen on a patio door. The male was reported to have fled from the area. While police were investigating this attempt Break & Enter they located an intoxicated male in the area. This male had been previously placed on probation with conditions of non consumption of alcohol and a curfew of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Mathew FARNDEN, 19 year old from Brighton, Ontario was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Breach of Probation. He was later released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in March 2010.

Impaired Driving

Belleville, Ont. ? On February 13, 2010 at 2:35 a.m., officers on patrol observed a pick-up truck veer off the roadway at Hwy #62 at Maitland Drive. This car struck a tree and was attempting to reverse when blocked by the cruiser. An open bottle of whiskey was seized from within this truck.

Police arrested Nathan CROSS, 19 years from Frankford, Ontario for Driving While Impaired. CROSS was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date set in April 2010.


Belleville, Ont. ? On February 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., Police attended the Giant Tiger store with regards to two shoplifters. Two youths had been observed removing clothing from various hangers, rolling them up and concealing them either in bags or on their person. Several items belonging to the store were retrieved from the two youths. A 17 year old Belleville female was charged with one count of Theft Under contrary to the Criminal Code and one count of Failure to Comply contrary to Youth Criminal Justice Act. A 15 year old Belleville male was charged with Theft Under. Both youths were released to their parents and will appear in court in March 2010. The names of the two youths will not be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
