Disturbance
On April 13, 2009 at approximately 2:30a.m., officers attended a Disturbance in the parking lot of a North Front St bar. A 30 year old male was arrested for Breach of the Peace and the crowd was disbursed. The male was released unconditionally a short time later. No charges were laid.
Public Intoxication
On April 13th, at 9:30 p.m., an officer on patrol on Moira St East, observed a male passenger in a car throwing a beer bottle out of the car window. The vehicle was stopped, and one of the passengers fled on foot. His intoxicated state prevented a clean getaway as he was arrested by responding units. This 21 year old Belleville man had been celebrating his birthday with friends. He was arrested for Intoxicated in a Public Place and lodged in the cells for his own protection.
A further search of the vehicle revealed open beer bottles. The driver, a 21 year old Belleville man, was charged with Open Alcohol in the Vehicle. This charge carries a fine of $215.00. In addition, the driver was charged with having an expired Val tag sticker.
