Arrested on warrants


Belleville, Ontario On April 12th, 2014, at 6:45 p.m. officers were assisting EMS on a call on Humewood Drive when a wanted person happened to walk by.  The wanted person fled on foot eastbound through backyards towards Herchimer Avenue. Officers caught up with the male on Pine St. and he was arrested without incident.  Joshua Parks, 28 years of age, of Belleville, was held for a bail hearing on outstanding charges of mischief to property and breach of probation.



Food Fraud


Belleville, Ontario On April 12th, 2014, at 10:49 p.m. officers attended at Crabby Joes as a patron had fled from the restaurant without paying his bill.  Officers observed the restaurant staff and the suspect running north on Marsh Drive.  The suspect ran through a fence at a residence on McFee St. before continuing north into Riverside Park.  An officer located the suspect behind the Pirate Ship in the park and the suspect fled on the trail. The suspect got tangled up with a dog who was being walked on the trail. At this point the suspect surrendered to police.  A 31 year old Edmonton man was arrested for the food fraud as well as the damaged fence.  Alcohol was a factor in this incident.  During his stint in jail, the accused offered to pay restitution to the restaurant as well the homeowner. A settlement was reached in both matters. In the end, the accused was charged with being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Act.



Breach of the Peace


Belleville, Ontario On April 12th, 2014, at 9:45 p.m. officers attended on Tripp Avenue in relation to disturbance.  A 37 year old Belleville man was arrested for breach of the peace.  Alcohol was a factor in this incident.  No one was injured.




Three-day licence suspension


Belleville, Ontario On April 13th, 2014, at 3:15 a.m. several calls were received about an impaired driver weaving on North Front Street.  The vehicle was stopped and it was learned that the driver had been texting on her cell phone. She had been drinking and provided a roadside breath sample which registered a "warn.  The 23 year old Quinte West woman had her licence suspended for 3 days.  She also received a ticket for using a cell phone and a ticket for driving in contravention of conditions.
