Intoxicated females
Belleville, Ont. - On August 13, 2009, at 2:15 a.m., a 16 year old girl was arrested for public intoxication after a disturbance on North Park Street. She was charged under the Liquor Licence Act.
Vehicle in ditch leads to charges
Belleville, Ont. - On August 13, 2009, at 1:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on Hoskin Rd in Thurlow Ward. The investigating officer observed two different licence plates on this car. A further check revealed that there was no insurance on this vehicle. A 19 year old Belleville man will appear in Traffic Court charged with Using Improper Licence Plates, No Insurance, and Careless Driving. The vehicle was towed, and the licence plates were seized.
Internet Fraud
The Belleville Police have received several reports of internet frauds recently involving rental properties. Prospective apartment renters have been viewing places on-line. In a number of instances, people have forwarded funds to an address in South Africa without even viewing the property. They later discover that the apartment was already occupied. People are encouraged to visit these potential properties first before advancing any payments.
