Arrested on warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On August 12th, 2015, at 8:00 a.m. a 57 year old man turned himself into the Belleville Police Service. He was wanted on Canada – wide warrants for a parole violation.

On August 12th, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. a 32 year old Belleville man was arrested on outstanding warrants when he attended at the Belleville Police Service to sign in. He was released with a courtdate of Sept. 14th, 2015.

On August 12th, 2015, at 9:20 p.m. a 45 year old Belleville man was the subject of a mischief investigation when he was arrested on outstanding warrants held by Napanee OPP. He was turned over to the OPP a short time later.

Intoxicated person(s)

Belleville, Ontario – On August 12th, 2015, at 4:15 p.m. police attended in the backyard of a North Park Street residence in relation to a male passed out. A 54 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

On August 13th, 2015, at 1:25 a.m. an officer on patrol was flagged down about an intoxicated woman stumbling on Cannifton Road. A 30 year old Ottawa woman was located and arrested for her own protection.

Shoplifter held for bail

Belleville, Ontario – On August 12th, 2015, at 11:35 p.m., police attended at a north end retail outlet in relation to a shoplifter. A male had been arrested after shoplifting goods totaling $125.00. The 35 year old Belleville man was held for bail on charges of theft under $5000.00 and breach of probation. He will appear in court on August 13th, 2015.

Accidents

Belleville, Ontario – On August 12th, 2015, at 5:48 p.m. police attended on North Front Street at Craig Street in relation to two-car accident. A 40 year old Belleville man was charged with “turn – not in safety”. There were no injuries.

One minute later, at 5:49 p.m. another accident occurred on North Front Street. This two-car accident happened south of Tracey Street. A 34 year old Belleville woman was charged with “fail to yield to traffic on a through highway”. There were no injuries.

Impaired Driver

Belleville, Ontario – On August 13th, 2015, at 3:30 a.m. an officer on patrol checked a motorist on Front Street.  The 19 year old Belleville man was arrested for impaired driving. He will appear in court on September 3rd, 2015. His charges include impaired driving and ‘over 80 mgs.’ His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
