Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario ? On 12 December 2011 @ 0805hrs Belleville Police attended a single motor vehicle collision which occurred on Hwy 2 at the west end of Old Kingston Rd. A 2000 Toyota 4Runner was westbound, and the male driver lost control. The vehicle entered the median, rolled over, and crossed both eastbound lanes, coming to a rest in the ditch after striking a telephone pole. A 16yr old female, and a14 year old male sustained minor injuries, and were transported to BGH for treatment. The 51yr old male driver was transported to BGH and then transferred to KGH with serious injuries. Road conditions are being investigated as a contributing factor. Speed and alcohol have been ruled out. The Traffic Management Unit iscontinuing the investigation.

Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon

Belleville, Ontario ? On 12 December 2011 at 0800 pm, police responded to a residence on West Moira Street in regards to a stabbing. The male victim was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening knife wound to the head and later released. Investigation revealed that the victim had been involved in an argument prior to the assault. As a result of this incident, a 36 year old male was arrested with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon and held for a bail hearing.
