Motor Vehicle Collisions

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 12th, 2017, Belleville Police attended at nine accident scenes.

 

At 8:29 a.m. police attended at a parking lot on Bridge Street West in relation to a fail to remain accident. The vehicle that was struck sustained considerable damage. The investigation is continuing.

 

At 9:12 a.m. police attended on Dundas Street East at Bleecker Avenue in relation to a two-car accident. A 25-year-old man was charged with careless driving. There were no injuries.

 

At 9:22 a.m. police attended on West Moira Street for a car that had overturned onto its side. It was learned that the car had struck a bus before leaving the roadway. EMS attended for treatment of minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.

 

At 9:45 a.m. police attended on Blessington Road in relation to a single vehicle accident. A truck had entered the ditch and damaged a fence. There were no reported injuries. The investigation is continuing.

 

At 10:10 a.m. police returned to West Moira Street in relation to a two-car accident. One of the drivers was charged with following too closely. There were no injuries.

 

At 12:51 p.m. police attended on Bell Blvd. east of North Park Street in relation to a two-car accident. A 75-year-old woman was charged with making an improper right turn. There were no reported injuries.

 

At 2:31 p.m. police attended on University Avenue in relation to a two-car accident. The accident was minor in nature and was referred to the Collision Reporting Center.

At 6:06 p.m. police attended on Old Cannifton Road as a car had struck a tree in front of an apartment building (refer to media release – Impaired Driver)

 

At 9:26 p.m. a driver phoned Police to report an accident that occurred at the intersection of Bridge Street West and Coleman Street earlier in the evening. The driver was reporting minor injuries. This investigation is continuing.

 

 

Impaired Driving

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 12th, 2017, at 6:06 p.m. police received a call about a car that had struck a tree in front of an apartment building on Old Cannifton Road. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. She was treated at the scene by EMS and released. 28 year-old Courtney Kaiser of Belleville was charged with impaired driving and over 80 mgs. . She will appear in court on January 4th, 2018. Her car was demolished.

 

 

Disturbance

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 12th, 2017, at 11:05 p.m. police attended at a disturbance on Brown Street. A 60-year-old Napanee man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and issued a provincial offence notice.
