Break, Enter and theft
Belleville, Ontario On June 12th, 2013, at 7:27 a.m. police attended at HGC Recycling Centre on Station St. in relation to a break and enter that had occurred overnight. A number of fire extinguishers had been stolen. Officers attended on Russell Place at 9:00 a.m. and several fire extinguishers were recovered. Two men were arrested and charged with break, enter and theft, possession of stolen property, and mischief. Joshua Lemche, 22 years of age, and Tyler Taft, 21 years of age, both of Belleville, will appear in court on July 11th, 2013.
Robbery
Belleville, Ontario On June 12th, 2013, at 7:45 a.m. a woman was using a bank machine on North Front Street when a male approached. This male exposed himself to the woman. He demanded cash from the woman who complied. The male left the area on foot. The woman was not harmed. He is described as a white male, 5' 10, 175 lbs, 20 years of age. He was wearing a dark coloured coat and a ballcap. Anyone with information can contact the Belleville Police Service or Crimestoppers.
Accident
Belleville, Ontario On June 12th, 2013, at 6:43 p.m. police attended on Plaza Square as a jogger had been struck by a car. The jogger was taken by EMS to Quinte Health Care. She was treated for minor injuries and released. The investigation is continuing.
Bail Violations
Belleville, Ontario On June 13th, 2013, at 1:19 a.m., a 17 year old youth was arrested on Cannifton Road for violating a curfew condition on his release. He was charged with breach of an undertaking and released with a courtdate of July 2nd, 2013.
RIDE Program
Belleville, Ontario On June 13th, 2013, 59 cars were checked in a RIDE check. There were no charges arising from this intiative.
An officer conducted a traffic stop at 2:20 a.m. on John St. and it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was issued a 3 day roadside suspension and his vehicle was towed. His expired licence plates were seized along with a valtag sticker that did not belong on the vehicle. He was also unlicenced. A 38 year old Belleville man was issued several tickets for these offences.
