Belleville Police Service responded to 100 calls for service from the 12th of June 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 13th of June 2019 at 5:00 a.m.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of June at approximately 11:00 a.m. police arrested a 24 year old Belleville male in relation to two separate incidents that were reported on the 11th of June. At 11:50 a.m. police initiated an investigation into a report of a domestic assault and sexual assault involving the male. That same evening, at 10:30 p.m., the male reportedly attended an east end apartment complex where he confronted a second male while he was armed with a knife. Police arrested the male at Belleville General Hospital in the morning after he went there to seek treatment for minor injuries that he received during the second incident. The male is being held for a bail hearing on the 13th of June and is facing charges including sexual assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, two counts of assault and four counts of breaching his probation. His identity is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim of the domestic investigation.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of June at 7:45 p.m. police responded to an accident at the intersection of West Moira St. and Yeoman St. where a vehicle struck an 8 year old on a bicycle. The child was not badly injured and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being released to the father. The driver of the vehicle was not at fault in the accident however a roadside alcohol device was administered which resulted in a three day suspension. Police also located cocaine and magic mushrooms in the car. 47 year old Quinte West resident Harold Treverton was arrested and transported to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a promise to appear. Treverton was given a June 24th court date to answer to two counts of possession under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Thefts From Motor Vehicles Arrest
Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of June at 5:15 a.m. an 18 year old Belleville male was arrested after police received a call with regards to somebody stealing from a motor vehicle in the city’s north end. Police located the male a short distance from the address and he was taken into custody and transported to The Belleville Police Service where he was held for a bail hearing. He was remanded into custody until the 10th of July on other matters while the investigation into the rash of thefts from vehicles remains ongoing. The male will be facing numerous charges of theft, possession of stolen property and mischief. Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of June at 3:00 p.m. police attended a north end retail store with regards to a fraud. Investigation resulted in 32 year old Belleville resident Vikrant Thakur being charged with fraud under $5000. Thakur was released at the scene on a form 9 appearance notice with a July 11th court date to answer to the charge.
Arrest on Warrants/ Weapons
Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of June at 8:45 a.m. police attended an apartment in the city’s downtown area to assist the local Sherriff with an eviction process. The male who was being evicted was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for two counts of breach of probation from 2015. Police also located what appeared to be a flintlock pistol in the apartment which was seized. The 27 year old Belleville male was brought to The Belleville Police Service to be held for a bail hearing. Investigation is continuing into the status of the pistol seized by police to determine its status as a firearm and whether criminal charges could be laid in relation to the males possession of it.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of June Shortly after 9:00 p.m. while investigating an unwanted person’s call police arrested a 22 year old female on outstanding warrants. Belleville resident Justice Herrington was taken to The Belleville Police Service where she was later released on a promise to appear for failing to attend court. Herrington was given a June 27th court date.
