Impaired Driver

Belleville, Ont, at 12:10am 13 March 2010, Belleville Police Service received information for of a motor vehicle failing to stop at the scene of a collision at a North Front Street parking lot. The complainant witnessed the driver and passenger switch places and drive onto the EB 401. Members from the Ontario Provincial Police stopped the vehicle with both the new driver and the original driver being taken into custody for impaired operation. Combined investigations by both agencies have resulted in Belleville Police Service charging the original driver, Kingston resident; 22 year old Andrew Hunter. He will appear in Belleville Criminal Court on 29 April to face charges of Fail to remain at the scene of a collision and failing to comply with his undertaking.
