On the 12th of November 2014 at 7:05pm, Belleville Police responded to a serious injury collision on Station Street, near the VIA rail station. A 19yr old city man was operating an off-road motorcycle when he lost control, struck a curb and was ejected. He was transported to Kingston General Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The Belleville Police Service Traffic Management Unit is investigating the cause of the collision. Anyone who witnessed the collision or the male riding the motorcycle in the area of Station Street last evening is asked to call Constable Brad Stitt at (613) 966-0882 ext 2227 of Crime Stoppers.
Bail Violations
At 1:35pm on the 13thof November 2014, Police conducted a traffic stop on Pinnacle Street. The driver of the vehicle was on numerous recognizance conditions, one of which included house arrest - 21 year old Robert Murray of Belleville was charged with 1 count of Breach of Recognizance and held for a bail hearing on November 13th, 2014 in Belleville court.
Impaired Driving
At 3:00pm on November 12th, 2013 Police conducted a traffic stop at Front & Dundas. The accused was found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol and later failed a Breathalyzer test – 77 year old James MacDonald of Belleville was charged with over 80 and will appear in a Belleville court later this month.
