 Belleville Police Service responded to 70 calls for service from the 12th of September 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 13th of September at 5:00 a.m.

 

Arrest on sexual assault warrant

Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of September at approximately 4:00 pm Belleville Police arrested a 26 year old Belleville male for The Toronto Police Service on a warrant for sexual assault. The male was released on a promise to appear with a court date of November 5th to attend court at 1911 Eglington Ave. E. in Toronto. Given that Belleville Police have limited information with regards to the investigation, the name of the accused is being withheld so as not to potentially compromise the identity of the alleged victim.

 

Breach of undertaking and trafficking in a controlled drug

Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of September at 3:15 pm police arrested a 17 year old Belleville male for breaching release conditions of his promise to appear and for trafficking in a controlled drug at the same local high school that he had just been arrested at that same morning for possession of a controlled drug. He was released on a promise to appear for the original charge with a condition not to attend the school. However, a short time afterwards police received a report of him back at the school attempting to sell a controlled substance. For his efforts, the male is now being held for a bail hearing at 1:00 pm on the 13th of September.

 

 

Robbery

Belleville, Ontario – On the 12th of September at approximately 4:00 pm police responded to the report of a robbery at a local LCBO in the cities east end. The robbery consisted of the suspect pushing an employee to the ground when confronted in relation to stealing a bottle of spiced rum. The employee did not receive any significant injuries and the suspect fled westbound from the store through the parking lot reportedly on a skate board. The only description of the suspect at this time is a black male wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. If anyone has any information with regards to the identity of the suspect, they are being asked to contact Cst. Willemsen at Awillemsen@police.belleville.on.ca
