Dangerous Driving / Threats Belleville, Ontario


 At approximately 3:28 pm on April 13, 2014 police were called by a Belleville woman reporting that she was being chased by two other women following her in their vehicle as she drove away trying to avoid them. The incident started in a North Front Street parking lot when the two suspects approached her vehicle and began banging on the windows of her car. She left without engaging them and they chased her as she made her way from North Front Street over to Sidney Street and then southbound until she reached the Bridge Street West / Sidney Street area where she contacted police. She then drove to the Belleville Police Service parking lot and as this was occurring the female passenger in the suspect vehicle phoned police and threatened to harm the victim during the conversation with them. After interviewing the victim the two suspects were contacted and surrendered themselves to police at approximately 4:31pm. As a result of the investigation the driver, Jocelyne Coutu, aged 22, of Belleville was charged with Dangerous Driving and Breach of Probation. She was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of May 15, 2014. The passenger, a 34 year old Belleville woman, faces charges of Uttering Threats, Criminal Harassment, and Breach of Probation. She was held in custody for a bail hearing on April 14, 2014.


Warrants Belleville, Ontario


 At approximately 8:18 pm on April 13, 2014 an officer on general patrol stopped two males in the James Street / Brock Street area of the city while investigating an incident which had occurred nearby. The officer determined that the two were not involved in the incident in question but a check of them revealed that one had an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and transported to the Belleville Police Service. The 23 year old Belleville man was held for a bail hearing on April 14, 2014.
