Pedestrian Struck:

At approximately 1847 hrs a pedestrian was stuck by a vehicle at the intersection of Dundas Street West and Avondale Road. The victim was transported to Quinte Health Care and treated for minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was charged with failing to yield under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.


1) On the 13th of December members of the Belleville Police Service RIDE team set up spot checks at various locations throughout the City and stopped 385 vehicles. One motorist was issued a 3 day licence suspension after registering a warn reading on the roadside screening device.

2) Officers while conducting RIDE stopped a vehicle and through investigation it was learned the licence plates on the vehicle were stolen. The driver was arrested and further charged with possession of stolen property, drive motor vehicle no licence, drive without insurance and fail to apply for permit for vehicle.

3) Officers received a complaint from a citizen of an impaired driver leaving a business on Bell Blvd. Officers located the vehicle on Sidney Street and arrested the driver for impaired operation. The driver was transported to Belleville Police Service and breathalyzer tests were conducted. The driver was charged with impaired operation and over 80mgs, being released on a promise to appear for court in January.

4) Officers observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner and stopped it. Upon further investigation the driver was arrested for impaired operation. They were transported to Belleville Police Service where breath tests were conducted. The driver was charged with impaired operation and over 80mgs and was released with a court date in January.
