Bail Violation

On April 14th, at 2:30 a.m., an officer conducted a vehicle check on N. Front St.. The driver had been released on a Recognizance with a number of conditions including a curfew which was to be obeyed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.  He was also required to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device.  The driver registered a ?warn?.  As a result, he received a 12-hour suspension and the vehicle was towed.  The driver, a 21 year old Quinte West man, was charged with breaching his Recognizance and released with a May court date.


Belleville, Ont. - On April 14th, at 8:45 p.m., a resident on Charles St. in the east end of Belleville, advised  two teenagers had broken the window on her vehicle and fled from the area.  The Canine Unit responded in an attempt to track the offenders and several locations in the area were searched. Officers on College St. E. observed the two suspects on Old Cannifton Rd.  Both Belleville males, ages 15 years and 19 years, were arrested.

The Forensic Identification Unit processed footwear impressions at the scene and these impressions were compared and confirmed to be the shoes worn by the 19 year old male.  He was charged with Mischief under $5000.00 and released on a Promise to Appear and OIC Undertaking with a May court date.  The 15 year old male was released unconditionally into the care of his mother.
