Possession of Stolen Property

Belleville, Ontario ? On July 13, 2011 police responded to a theft of an air conditioner unit from a store on Bell Blvd. As store personnel approached the suspect in possession of the stolen item he fled. Police responded and searched the area. As a result Robert RUSSELL, 47 years old from the City of Belleville, was arrested and charged with Theft Under and Possession of Stolen Property. The air conditioner unit was recovered and returned to the store. RUSSELL will appear in court in August 2011.

Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario ? On July 14, 2011 at 1:55 a.m. police were dispatched to a Thurlow address regarding a disturbance. On arrival police were met by a distraught female outside the home. Further investigation revealed the victim and accused became involved in a dispute and as a result the victim attempted to leave. The accused prevented her from leaving by choking, slapping, and by biting her. He also pulled her hair and dragged her about the home.

A 20 year old Thurlow male was arrested and charged with one count each of Forcible Confinement and Breach of Probation. He was also charged with two counts of Assault. The accused was held in custody awaiting a Bail Hearing scheduled for July 14, 2011.
